Top 5 Netflix Recommendations | June 2018

Most of you will be finishing school and university for summer break around now and you will have a lot more spare time on your hands to catch up on your favourite Netflix shows! If you need some recommendations on what to watch you have come to the right place! Here are my Top 5 Netflix Recommendations for June 2018.

13 Reasons Why

I am so late to the party on this one but Netflix recently added Season 2 so I gave it a shot. I was sceptical before because I assumed it was some teen love mush that I really would rather avoid but I could not have been more wrong. 13 Reasons Why tells the tale of a girl who committed suicide and why she ended her own life. It touches on some extremely sensitive topics but if you have the stomach for it then it is an fantastic.

RuPauls Drag Race

Hey there Kitty Girl! RuPauls Drag Race is one of my favourite Netflix shows to binge. It has been on the streaming site for a good while now but the reason I include it in my June 2018 recommendations is because It may not be around for much longer! Netflix recently lost the rights to it and so seasons 2-7 were removed. But do not worry! seasons 8- 10 are still available for so you can watch all your favourite queens spill the tea all over the runway.

On My Block

Another show I had previously scrolled past thinking “nahhh this isnt for me” but when you have run out of things to watch you start to click on random stuff just to see if its any good. On my Block was one of the best accidental finds I discovered on Netflix. At first it comes across extremely cringe and cheesy, but if you give it a chance and follow the story through till the end… you are in for an emotional roller-coaster you never even expected.

Safe

Safe¬†focuses on Englishman named Tom who is a paediatric surgeon and widowed father of two teenage daughters. Tom is struggling to connect to his daughters as they still grieve the loss of their mother from cancer. His 16-year-old daughter Jenny goes to a party one evening and doesn’t come home. As a result, Tom ends up uncovering a web of secrets as he frantically searches for her.¬†The story is utterly fantastic and extremely gripping! There are plenty of episodes for you to binge on too which is always a bonus.

The End of the F***ing World

The End of the F***ing World is focused on James, a 17-year-old boy who believes himself to be a psychopath. James kills animals as a hobby but then the practice of killing animals does not bring the same enjoyment and so he decides he wants to try killing a human. He settles on rebellious 17-year-old classmate Alyssa who comes from a troubled home life. The two soon become friends and she proposes they run away together, hoping for an adventure. James agrees with the intention of finding an opportunity to kill her.

I watched this show in one sitting, its extremely dark but so good! If you can handle the dark themes you will thoroughly enjoy watching the story between these two characters unfold.

If you guys watch and enjoy any of these I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments or on social media! Feel free to also send your own recommendations if you think I missed something worth the watch!
